Eden Garden
From the intro on the offical site at www.edengarden.co.nz
Created by volunteers in 1964 from an abandoned quarry on the slopes of the volcanic Mount Eden, the Garden is only minutes away from downtown Auckland. It is home to one of the largest collections of Camellias in the Southern Hemisphere, and the diverse mixture of plants, includes Vireya Rhododendrons, bromeliads, palms, conifers, Hostas and native New Zealand plants, which all provide year round interest in a striking setting.
